Woburn Woman Earns Player of Year Award

Softball superstar led New England Collegiate Conference in batting.

 

A Woburn woman has taken New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year honors for her softball performance this year.

Lesley College's Jenna Fralick of Woburn was given the honor last week.

In addition to Player of the Year honors, Fralick was also named to the NECC First Team, along with four of her teammates.

Fralick led the league in batting with a .549 average during league games. She also had a 1.000 fielding percentage at third base. Fralick was a perfect 11-11 in stolen base attempts in NECC games. She finished second in the league with nine walks, third with 28 hits and ninth with 17 runs batted in.

Overall, Fralick, the senior co-captain, is tied for second in the league in batting at .440 on the year, ranks fifth with 17 stolen bases and seventh with 33 runs.

According to Ryan McCarthy of Lesley University, this is the college's second straight season earning the NECC Player of the Year and sending five players to the All-NECC First Team.
