The saga of Waxy O'Connor's continues in Woburn this month.
The traditional Irish pub has been making promises to the city about opening—first it was November of 2012, then January 2013.
But as of Jan. 7, it has still not opened at the site of the old Spuds restaurant off of Montvale Avenue.
The city's Licensing Commission issued an ultimatum last November—open by January or you lose your liquor license.
Woburn Patch reached Paul Medeiros of the Licensing Commission last Friday. He had this to say about the restaurant and it's progress:
"The recent flurry of activities at the property are promising and we remain hopeful that Waxy's will meet the deadline and be a welcomed addition to the very vibrant Woburn restaurant scene."
According to a post on Chowhound, Waxy's was conducting job interviews for the Woburn site on Sunday, Jan. 6.
