Sad To Say Goodbye

It saddens me to report that I will be moving out of Woburn next month. This has been my home for the past four years, and I am torn about moving. I have fallen in love with this little town, and here are some of the reasons why.

Horn Pond is one of my favorite places to go for walks. It's beautiful year round, and you can clear your head while walking the trails, some of which I have just recently found!! Whether you stay on the main path, or venture off into the more wooded paths, you'll be amazed by the beauty of this place. Look for many species of birds, turtles, and more.

Downtown Woburn is a vibrant section of town with one of my favorite restaurants, Ixtapa. If you haven't been to Ixtapa, give it a try. They serve mexican-american food and the portions are huge.  They also make a variety of margaritas, and the ones I have tried are all delicious!

There is no shortage of supermarkets in our town. I go to Stop and Shop, Market Basket, and Whole Foods, depending on what items I'm looking for, or which direction I am coming from. All of them are very convenient, with the exception of Whole Foods which is a little bit of a hike for me, but its worth the drive!

The Woburn Library is a great library, and the building itself is a gem.  The librarians are always very helpful, and the selection of books is large and kept up to date.

You have your choice of gyms here in Woburn. Boston Sports Club, Fitness Together, Planet Fitness are three of the main gyms. All of them are in convenient locations. There are also yoga studios and martial arts places located in Woburn if you want to try something different!

The Woburn Mall is a small but enticing mall with a TJMaxx/Homegoods, DSW Shoe Warehouse, Papa Ginos, Panera, Fredericks of Hollywood and Sports Authority. Looking for a Sally Beauty Supply? Its there, even though a search online wont necessarily tell you that!

Woburn also has a fantastic sense of community. I have met friends through social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, Woburn Patch and more.  Some people I would like to mention can be found via their twitter handles and they are: @thoughtfuleats who is a food blogger and health afficionado, @beacongrille, aka Joyce who manages social media for this great restaurant at 128 Tradecenter, @DC_Woburn also known as David Crowley, the founder of SCI Woburn who is doing great things for communities, @AMgangi who runs the Woburn Bowladrome, and of course, Danielle, @WoburnPatch, the editor of the Woburn Patch.

It took a lot of soul searching to convince myself to move out of Woburn, but it's a move I chose to make now because of an opportunity that presented itself. I will still read the Patch and enjoy reading the blogs. I will peruse the police logs and the "Do you Know?" sections for entertainment.  And someday when I am ready to move again, Woburn will be my first choice because to me, it will always be home!

How about you? What are some other things you love about Woburn?
