When Woburn Patch launched in December of 2010, editors and freelancers ventured to local businesses in order to collect information for our Directory. Now, Patch Directory is a spot where users can find descriptions, hours, accepted payment methods and more. Who won the weekly Patch Readers' Choice poll?
The results are in and Beacon Grille was named Woburn's favorite place to have brunch on Mother's Day in this week's Best of Patch Readers' Choice poll. Beacon Grille received 15 of the 34 votes (44 percent!) and edged out Masa Southwest Bar & Grill (29 percent, 10 votes). The Restaurant was also popular, earning 14 percent (5 votes). The Woburn Country Club also received two write-in votes. The restaurant located off of Route 128 has 4.75 stars according to Woburn Patch users. Wilmington, Tewksbury and Woburn residents combine to open Body Infusion by HER.
For a trio of local residents with a combined 30 years of work in the fitness industry, the next step was a logical one. It was time to open their own studio. “The three of us joined up because of the trust we have in each other,” said co-owner Emily King, who teamed up with Tewksbury resident Rose Ryan and Woburn native Heather Lowe to open up Body Infusion by HER over the weekend. “We are hard working, dedicated, and we have a lot of heart and passion for what we do.” Wilmington’s newest gym is located at 296 Shawsheen Ave. in the plaza that includes Greg’s Roast Beef. Central Bank has been purchased by Rockland Trust.
Somerville-based Central Bank has been purchased by Rockland Trust, according to a press release issued Tuesday morning. The Central Bank location at Four Corners—and all eight other locations—will remain open as a Rockland Trust branch, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday. The sale will cost Rockland Trust's parent company Independent Bank Corp about $55 million and is expected to be finalized by the end of the year. Central Bank was established in 1915. It operates branches in Arlington, Burlington, Chestnut Hill, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Somerville and Woburn.
