As part of our October Speaker Series, we are excited to have Andrea and Matthais Reisen on board to discuss Herbs and Their Many Healing Properties. They'll be taking us on a journey, working through the basics of herbs from growing and harvesting to processing and drying. 

Matthias and Andrea Reisen co-founded Healing Spirits Herb Farm and Education Center, a NOFA-NY Certified Organic Medicinal Herb Farm, in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. Since 1982, there have been three generations living, working, and playing on the farm.  They live simply, seeking a life of balance and harmony with all creation.

Matthias is a ‘gentle giant’ whose large and skillful hands carefully tend all the herbs, flowers, and vegetables at Healing Spirits. His strong spiritual energy enhances Healing Spirits’ ethically wild-crafted and organically grown herbs. He is a  graduate of Rosemary Gladstar’s herbal apprenticeship program and has assisted her with the various programs. He has a BS  in agronomy and has worked as an agricultural agent. He has also studied nature awareness and philosophy at Tom Brown’s Tracker School.

Andrea enjoys sharing her love of herbs and her knowledge of their healing powers with everyone who visits Healing Spirits. Her love of nature is infectious. She is a student of numerous healing modalities, including: CranioSacral, Reiki, and Therapeutic Touch. She is certified in Zero Balancing. She has studied with Brooke Medicine Eagle, and is a graduate of Rosemary Gladstar’s apprenticeship program. She has also studied nature awareness and philosophy at Tom Brown’s Tracker School.”
