Antiques Appraisal, Appliance Recycling and Tanners in Action

Here are five things to start your Wednesday in Woburn.

1. Happening Wednesday: The Woburn Special Education Parent Advisory has a meeting scheduled for Tuesday night. The session is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Joyce Middle School.

2. Free Appraisal: Do you have an old treasure that you've always wondered if it was valuable or not? James D. Julia, located at 827 Main Street, offers a free antiques appraisal clinic on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3. Appliance Recycling: Be sure to check out an event this weekend if you're getting rid of old appliances. You can bring your items to Spence Farm on Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and proceeds will benefit Woburn Residents Environmental Network. There will be another event on October 19 that will benefit Boy Scout Troop 502.

4. Sunny Midweek: According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring sunshine, a calm wind, and temperatures around 74 degrees. It is not expected to rain as the week rolls on.

5. Tanners in Action: Several Woburn High School teams will be in action on Wednesday. The cross country teams both host a meet at 3:45 p.m. at Horn Pond, the girls swim team travels to Belmont at 4 p.m. and the volleyball team hits the road to take on Burlington at 4 p.m.
