Thursday Marks First Day of Classes for Woburn Students

Here are five things to start off your Thursday in Woburn.

1. Back to School: Thursday is the first day of class in Woburn. While teachers have been working in their respective schools since Tuesday to prepare for students, their desks will finally be filled on Thursday. Are you excited for the first day of school? 2. Common Lighting: In honor of September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, supporters will host a special event on Woburn Common on Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. There will be speakers, fundraisers, music and Woburn Common will be lit up gold at dusk.

3. Comfortable Conditions: According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will reach 68 degrees on Thursday. There is 30 percent chance of rain, though skies will likely be sunny with some clouds throughout the day.

4. Happening Thursday: Two Woburn meetings are scheduled for Thursday. The Woburn Agricultural Commission meets at 6 p.m. at Spence Farm. Then at 7 p.m. inside the City Hall Engineers Conference Room, the Recreation Commission holds its regular meeting.
