Plasma Films wins another Telly Award

The Telly Awards has once again named Woburn based Plasma Films as a winner in the 34th Annual Telly Awards  for their piece titled “In the Cause of Liberty; Woburn in the Civil War”.  The award was in the documentary category.   With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.

The Plasma Films production was made in conjunction with the Woburn Historical Society and was written by Robert Maguire and Kathy Lucero.  The film was also co-edited by Brian Ouellette and Kathy Lucero and was sponsored by Lennon Insurance Agency and Arbella Charitable Foundation.  This is Plasma Films’ fifth Telly Award and the third with Woburn Historical Society.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards.  “Plasma Films’ accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”

“The research of Leon Basile, Bob Maguire and Kathy Lucero and the writing style of Mr. Maguire are what drove the film,” said Brian Ouellette, producer and editor at Plasma Films.   “We had some wonderful contributions from the Woburn Public Library as well, including photographs and a short film clip made by the Johnson family of Civil War soldiers celebrating Memorial Day on the Woburn Common in 1927.”

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.  Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
