snom To Demonstrate PC Pairing “Better Together” Features On Its Microsoft Lync-Qualified Desktop Phones At WPC 2013

Houston, TX and Berlin (July 8, 2013)snom technology AG, a leading developer of IP business phones, today announced that its snom UC edition phones now feature expanded calling, collaboration and integration capabilities with Microsoft Lync.

snom is introducing new firmware that supports enhanced PC pairing via Ethernet “better together” unified communications features on its Lync qualified devices including click-to-dial, call transfer and ad-hoc conferencing where users drag and drop Lync contacts from their snom desktop phone into the Lync 2013 client for conference calls.

snom’s UC edition phones also support important Lync integration and device management capabilities with Lync Server. The snom 7xx series and snom 821 UC edition phones feature firmware that enables the phones to natively connect to the Lync server for out-of-the box configuration, enabling fast and streamlined provisioning for these SIP-based phones in multi-site enterprise Microsoft Lync environments. Further, the phones support 802.1x authentication for enhanced wired endpoint security with Lync voice deployments.

WPC 13 represents the first time that snom will publicly demonstrate its newly expanded lineup of Lync desktop phones that now features HP 4110 and HP 4120 Lync-optimized phones and snom UC edition Lync-qualified phones. In June, snom entered into an agreement with HP whereby snom, its channel partners, distributors and system integrators would sell HP’s Lync-optimized phones in addition to its Lync-qualified UC edition phones, giving snom one of the fullest portfolios of Lync endpoints in the industry.
