Come by The Restaurant to Celebrate Owner Peter Mamakos's Birthday

But, shhh, don't say anything to him, it's a surprise.

Friends and family members are inviting the community to celebrate the birthday of one of Woburn's upstanding citizens and business owners this weekend.

"On Sunday, March 24 we are having a surprise birthday party for our buddy and owner of The Bar and The Restaurant, Peter [Mamakos]!" the invite reads. "Peter would like nothing more than to see all of his family and friends on his 50th birthday. Please come and join us to help make this day special."

The party starts at 6:30 p.m. and will have food and entertainment.

One thing to note: If you see Peter, don't say anything because this is a surprise party. How is that since it's here on a popular website? Well, it pains us to say it, but we have it on good authority that Peter doesn't check Woburn Patch very often.

However, we're happy to share the news of his party because he is an upstanding citizen in Woburn.

As reported on Woburn Patch, Mamakos has often contributed to the community.

For example, when Malcolm White Elementary School cafeteria manager Marge Bradley had to leave work because of leukemia, Mamakos . He also collected toys for less privileged children in town during the holiday season.

He is perhaps best known for giving a free Thanksgiving to anyone who shows up to his restaurant in search of a meal or just some companionship.

Mamokos was also awarded the 2012 Woburn Business Association's Humanitarian Award.

So stop by The Restaurant on Sunday to say "Happy Birthday" to Peter. Also share your thoughts about the big party in the comments section below.
