Community Lends Support to Fisher Family

Allen Fisher died of injuries sustained when he was struck by a car Oct. 9.

As Allen Fisher's family mourns the loss of the 31-year-old father, the community has gathered to support them.

Fisher was struck by a car Oct. 9 as he walked across Washington Street after his son's Pop Warner football practice at Leland Park. He was rushed to Mass General Hospital where he endured several surgeries before lapsing into a coma. Allen Fisher died of his injuries Monday.

An online account has been set-up for those wishing to make a donation to the family in lieu of flowers for Fisher. If interested in donating, click here.

A fundraising party has also been coordinated by the friends and family of Fisher involved in the Pop Warner E2 Trojans team.

The party will be held Nov. 16 at the Sons of Italy in Woburn. Hosting the event is WAAF DJ Anthony Parziale (Spaz). Over 100 people have confirmed they will attend via a Facebook page set up for the event. For more information on attending or donating to the party, contact organizers here.

A Facebook page was also created in memory of Fisher, as many inquired about his medical status prior to his death.
