Woburn Costume Contest Brings Out Creative Red Sox Costume

Radio host Rich Shertenlieb shared a photo of an epic Halloween costume at a recent costume at Scoreboard Sports Bar and Grill.

Update: Woburn Patch reader Mike Bonish has taken credit for the epic Red Sox costume in the comments section below. Outstanding work, Mike!

Original Story: Halloween and a memorable Red Sox World Series run. It's a fun time to be in New England, and a patron at one Woburn bar took the opportunity to come up with a great Halloween costume.

Woburn's Scoreboard Sports Bar and Grill held a costume contest over the weekend, emceed and judged by Rich Shertenlieb, a co-host of the top-rated Toucher and Rich show on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

The radio host's personal favorite was a man who recreated a memorable moment from the American League Championship Series when Detroit Tigers outfielder Tori Hunter flipped head over heels into the Red Sox bullpen in a failed attempt to catch David Ortiz's critical grand slam.

Ortiz's home run created a moment that instantly went viral as Boston Police Officer Steve Horgan raised his arms in celebration with Hunter flipping over the wall.

During this weekend's costume contest in Woburn, the Scoreboard patron created it all in one costume. The man dressed as a police officer with a bullpen wall and a pair of legs straight up in the air in front of him.

"Here's the picture I took this weekend of one of our listeners wearing what I think is the costume of the year," said Shertenlieb accompanying the photo.
