The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce wishes to announce the incoming members to its governing body of the organization. The Chamber’s Board of Directors is in place to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce in an effort to support the organization’s mission and programs.
The following business leaders were elected to the Board following a Chamber wide nomination and election process. The term for each of these officers will run from January 2013 through January 2016. The induction of officers will take place at the 2012 Annual Dinner and Awards Celebration scheduled for October 25, 2012. Tickets are available at $50 per person. The event will be held at Promises to Keep in Derry.
Marie Brownell | Brownell Insurance
Marie W. Brownell is one of the Greater Derry – Londonderry Chamber’s newest member on Board of Directors and she has recently accepted the position of Chairman of the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee. Marie and her husband, Richard A. Brownell Sr. own the Brownell Insurance Center, a full service family insurance agency with offices in Derry and Hampton, New Hampshire for the last 25 years. Between Marie and Rick they have over 60 years of insurance expertise. Brownell Insurance specializes in personal and business insurances. They pride themselves on being a friendly, professional, family-style insurance agency. Their goal is to have a pleasant, service oriented environment for their clients. Their clients’ needs are their number one concern. Brownell Insurance and Brownell Financial Services employs and works with 14 licensed agents specializing in property & casualty, investments, AFLAC, health, and life insurances.
Jennifer Carron | Anstiss & Co., P.C.
Jennifer Caron, CPA graduated from New Hampshire College, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in finance. She is licensed in New Hampshire as a Certified Public Accountant, is an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the New Hampshire Society of CPA’s. She is employed at Anstiss & Co, a full service CPA firm in Lowell, MA and is a long time resident of Derry with her husband and three children. As well as involvement with the Chamber, she volunteers her time in the capacity of Treasurer of the Derry Village Rotary and is pursuing a Masters in Taxation at Southern New Hampshire University.
Doug Cullen | Pinkerton Academy
Doug Cullen, one of the Chamber’s newest Board of Directors, has 30 years of experience in business and education and has recently accepted the positions with the Chamber’s Board of Directors as well as Chairman of the Chamber’s Education Committee for another term. He remains the Career Coordinator with Pinkerton Academy’s Center for Career & Technical Education enabling him to provide short- and long-range career and college planning assistance for Pinkerton’s students of various grades and ages across the entire campus. In addition, he enables students to connect to NH businesses and communities through Pinkerton’s various Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs). His background includes supporting the needs of various sized companies in North American and Europe in many industries such as Insurance, Secondary and Higher Education, Manufacturing and Biotechnology with various responsibilities including business development, marketing, and technology infrastructure development.
Beverly Donovan | Grubb & Ellis Northern N.E.
Bev is a commercial real estate advisor with Grubb & Ellis|Northern New England's Manchester office. She concentrates on the Greater Derry/Londonderry area on retail, office, industrial and land transactions. Bev holds a Master's in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University and is currently a member of the Windham Economic Development Committee as the liaison of the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce. Bev also serves on several local, regional and state boards and committees focusing on regulatory, economic and community endeavors. Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis in 2010, she spent more than five years with Prudential Dinsmore Associates. Bev has also previously owned and operated three small businesses, as well as serving as a founding member of four non-profits.
Chris McCune | CGM Technologies
Chris McCune is the principle of CGM Technologies, LLC in Hampstead NH. CGM Technologies has provided networking and computer support to regional businesses since 1997. Currently CGM is specializing in providing new phone Voice over IP telephone systems. These systems use either the Internet or older copper lines to provide it clients the highest quality, most reliable telephone services possible. Prior to opening CGM Technologies, Chis was a commissioned officer in the US Public Health Service. He spent his career working for the US Food and Drug Administration testing medical devices and radiation sources. Chris received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University and his Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Lowell. He is a member of the Hampstead Congregational Church and resides in Hampstead with his wife Ellen.
William “Bill” Rockwell | Burlington Self Storage
William “Bill” Rockwell was born in Massachusetts but has resided in Derry, NH for the past 15 years. Bill is the Vice President of B.S.S. Properties and Burlington Self Storage. He oversees North Broadway Shopping Center in Salem, NH as well as Storage Sites in Burlington, MA, Fort Lauderdale, FL, West Palm Beach, FL, Salem, NH and opening this November their newest site in Derry, NH. Bill is a graduate of Northeastern University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in business. Bill and his wife Susan have been married for 17 years and have two daughters Haley 14 and Molly 11.
