Dave & Busters Requests Continuance of Hearing Until October

Representatives of the business that seeks a new location in Woburn asked to push a public hearing from Tuesday until October.

Representatives from Dave & Busters were slated to address a variety of issues for a potential Woburn location during the City Council meeting on Tuesday night. But at the request of the company, that discussion will have to wait.

The business, which is scheduled to be opened on the former MBTA Commuter Rail station on 275 Mishawum Road, was on the agenda for Tuesday night's meeting to discuss parking requirements, hours of operation, and the use of 200 entertainment machines.

Instead, in advance of the meeting Joseph R. Tarby III, the attorney representing the Dallas-based company asked to push back the hearing.

"I respectfully request that the City Council public hearing on this matter presently scheduled for September 3, 2013, be continued to the City Council meeting on October 1, 2013," Tarby wrote to aldermen.

When the hearing is held, Dave & Busters will seek permits to allow 104 parking lots in a separate lot. The company also hopes to receive permission to operate from 11 a.m.-1 a.m. seven days a week.
