We commend other companies for being earth friendly on Earth Day. At the Book Oasis we try to make every day Earth Day. The vast majority of our books are used. Reusing items for as long as they still have life in them keeps them out of the land fill for as long as possible. Even if you bring in a book we do not need at the time, we can donate that book to a worthy non-profit (or point you in their direction). That goup will also reuse the book. We do not send truck loads of books to a recycling plant everyday, like some other "green" used book groups do. This only uses up more fossil fuels to transport & remake perfectly good books into new paper, before their time. We also reuse plastic bags. Reusable bags are a great thing, we even sell them. Some times you just do not have it with you. It is hard not to get some from time to time. But like the books why use up fuel to remake a perfectly good platic bag before its time. We do not cause new plaatic bags to be made, but if you have them to donate to us we will also keep them out of the land fill & recycling plant for as long as possible. When items have out lved thier usefllness a recycleing plant is a great thing. We do not believe everything should go to one after only one use. We at the Book Oasis are trying to do our small part. We challenge other businesses to remember the Earth the other 51 weeks of the year.
