Gas Prices Surge More Than 30 Cents in a Month; Are you Driving Less?

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline has risen to $3.81 in Woburn over the past month.


Gas prices in Woburn continue their upward march, with prices reaching the highest point ever in February and up more than a quarter in the past month.

AAA Southern New England said its survey of prices in Massachusetts on Monday found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.72 per gallon, four cents higher than a week ago and up 31 cents over the past month.

On Wednesday, the average price for a gallon of regular in Woburn was $3.81, up signifcantly over a month ago, according to AAA.

The national average for self serve unleaded of $3.73 and a year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.60.

According to prices listed on AAA's app, the least expensive gallon of gas in Woburn on Wednesday was being sold at Al Prime Energy, with a listed price of $3.68. The second cheapest gas listed was Best Petroleum Co. at $3.70 per gallon. Gibbs Oil at 107 Main St., came in at $3.76 and Woburn Gas and Service at 545 Main St. had a price of $3.80 per gallon.

Drive to Wilmington. gas is at least 10 cents cheaper than most places in Woburn,

Use common sense...how much gas are you going to use up driving to a place that is cheaper? Do the math...

Well Laura, considering I live 2 miles from the Prime gas station in Wilmington. Im not really wasting that much. And since we shop at market basket we kill two birds with one stone. So YOU do the math. If I can save 10 cents agallon driving 2 miles to get that gas.. I'm not losing much now am I?

Good for you. Hope others use common sense too. I fill up when I can while doing errands. Prices are so out of control...
