Gas Prices Surge More Than 30 Cents in a Month; Are you Driving Less?

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline has risen to $3.81 in Woburn over the past month.

 

Gas prices in Woburn continue their upward march, with prices reaching the highest point ever in February and up more than a quarter in the past month.

AAA Southern New England said its survey of prices in Massachusetts on Monday found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.72 per gallon, four cents higher than a week ago and up 31 cents over the past month.

On Wednesday, the average price for a gallon of regular in Woburn was $3.81, up signifcantly over a month ago, according to AAA.

The national average for self serve unleaded of $3.73 and a year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.60.

According to prices listed on AAA's app, the least expensive gallon of gas in Woburn on Wednesday was being sold at Al Prime Energy, with a listed price of $3.68. The second cheapest gas listed was Best Petroleum Co. at $3.70 per gallon. Gibbs Oil at 107 Main St., came in at $3.76 and Woburn Gas and Service at 545 Main St. had a price of $3.80 per gallon.
