New Business Planned for Washington Street

Former car dealership building demolished.

Something is missing on Washington Street, on the site just south of the Route 128 overpass, where a car dealership once stood.

A week ago today, last Tuesday, the building was destroyed.

New business will be coming in, but the property owner, who prefers not to be named, said he could not say what business, because of a confidentiality agreement.

He’s “working diligently to use (the land) to its fullest potential,” he told Patch last week.

The man bought the property two years ago, he said; at that time, he said it was not a car dealership franchise.

He declined to discuss when construction would start or when it would be finished.

The site covers about five acres, he said.

Two employees of Baystate Engineering in Holliston sorted through the building debris last week with heavy equipment, separating and removing recyclable materials. They expect to be done with the post-demolition clean-up in two weeks, according to Ian Brown of Baystate Engineering.

Good morning, Nancy! I didn't reject any comments for any of the stories this morning. Perhaps there was a delay in posting or an error? I will look into it. Thank you!

I'm just glad they took down that old building, it was looking rough! Now for that old Grace property!!! That would be a great dog park, just sayin'!

Wow, Woburn casino..... Who knew? Considering opening a casino can bring in a portion of the $16.7 million in revenue that Rhode Island is afraid to lose.... Hence the property has it's own exit... And uses 329 Washington street vacant property to aide in a parking garage with an over pass to permit tower office park access. It will take them longer to find a name than it will to build the casino.... Tanners Casino....

They are putting a Hooters Restaurant in that location. It was in the Boston Globe yesterday. Hooters, Inc. is putting a proposal together to submit to the city. Great wings!!

The Hooters is going where the armory is... They could not decide if another Chinese food or pizza place would be better...

I hear both a Hooters AND a Casino combined! Each roomin the Casino will be named after a ward Alderman. The Denaro room. The Gately room , etc. etc. And Hooters will have a Burger called the Galvin, Small with no substance!

I heard a rumor a couple of months ago that an Olive Garden was going in there.I don't remember where I heard that though. If the state ever updates the Rt.93/ Rt.128 interchange then the traffic on Washington St.might eventually ease up some.
