New Business Planned for Washington Street

Former car dealership building demolished.

Something is missing on Washington Street, on the site just south of the Route 128 overpass, where a car dealership once stood.

A week ago today, last Tuesday, the building was destroyed.

New business will be coming in, but the property owner, who prefers not to be named, said he could not say what business, because of a confidentiality agreement.

He’s “working diligently to use (the land) to its fullest potential,” he told Patch last week.

The man bought the property two years ago, he said; at that time, he said it was not a car dealership franchise.

He declined to discuss when construction would start or when it would be finished.

The site covers about five acres, he said.

Two employees of Baystate Engineering in Holliston sorted through the building debris last week with heavy equipment, separating and removing recyclable materials. They expect to be done with the post-demolition clean-up in two weeks, according to Ian Brown of Baystate Engineering.
