The movie theater chain is reducing seats, but adding wider, reclining seats.

You’ll soon be able to put your feet up at the Showcase Cinemas Woburn without an usher telling you to put your feet down.

Showcase Cinemas Woburn is revamping its theaters and adding new fully reclining luxury seats as well as digital cinema on every screen with Sony 4k projectors. The movie chain hopes to have the project done by June.

The work includes taking the 14 interior theaters with 1,956 seats and making them a more comfortable 912 seats. The 14 theaters currently have between 95 and 334 seats, but that would be cut to 28 to 146 seats, reported the Daily Times Chronicle.

The new seats will be wider and reclining. The new seats look a lot like a recliner that can be found in many living rooms.

The theater chain also recently received a StandUp Drinking license to allow for a serving bar and 10 tables in the lobby.
