Wegmans Adding 1,600 Jobs to Massachusetts

The supermarket chain is opening three locations in the next year.

Wegmans, which plans to open its new Chestnut Hill store in the spring and Burlington location in the fall, is adding at least 1,600 jobs in Massachusetts over the next year, reported Boston Business Journal.

The grocery chain plans to open three stores in the Bay State, which will add 1,600 full- and part-time jobs.

In addition to the Chestnut Hill and Burlington stores, Westwood is slated to open at the beginning of 2015. Northborough is currently the only Wegmans store open in Massachusetts. The Northborough location is 135,000 square feet.

The Newton supermarket is slated to be 70,000 square feet, but with an additional second-floor 10,000 square-foot liquor store.Read more about the Newton location location here.
