5T: 30th Annual Senior Center Senior Olympics Starts Today

Five things to know today.

Today is Monday, June 3. Here are five things to know:

1) Cloudy and cooler

Looks like a gray day today but also a respite from the heat. According to the National Weather Service we can expect cloudy skies with a high near 76 degrees. Showers are also likely before 9 a.m. Scattered showers tonight and otherwise cloudy skies with a low around 49 degrees.

2) Public meetings

The Woburn Council on Aging is meeting at 10 a.m. in the Veteran's Memorial Senior Center. The Woburn Council on Aging Transportation Committee is meeting at 11:30 a.m. in the Veteran's Memorial Senior Center.

 

3) Senior Center Senior Olympics Event Week

The Woburn Senior Center is holding its 30th Annual Woburn Senior Center Senior Olympics Event this week. The event starts today. Click here for more information.

 

4) Volunteers needed

Woburn Meals on Wheels urgently needs volunteer drivers. Do you have an hour to spare each week or as little as two hours per month? The work is rewarding and makes a big difference. Click here for more information.

 

5) Jimmy V Fund fundraiser

The Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill has partnered up with Cornona to raise money for The Jimmy V Fund.  All of the Scoreboard staff are selling paper basketballs to be hung up around the restaurant.  The Jimmy V Fund is for cancer research. They will be selling the basketballs till the end of March Madness.
