1) WMHS on Twitter

Are you a Woburn Memorial High School student? A parent of a WMHS student? A staffer? Just someone interested in what's going on over on Montvale Avenue? Then you'll want to follow the high school's new Twitter account—@WMHSTanners. We just started following them yesterday and can't wait to interact with the high school admins!

2) Think pink

The lights are a pinkish hue, the ribbons hang from everywhere. As part of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the city has gone pink to highlight the many families that are affected by breast cancer. Mayor Scott Galvin posted this statement Tuesday about it:

Thanks to everyone who turned out last night to help the Tanner Ta Tas kick off a month of events aimed at raising awareness and money to support local women living with a breast cancer diagnosis. Check out upcoming events at www.tannertatas.org--and show your support in whatever ways you can. Special thanks to Michelle Amari, Suzanne Beauchamp Clurman, Erin Ficociello, Molly Kubris, Tucker Quinn, Richard Jaime and the DPW, Woburn Police, and Marie Lingblom for their help. And, thanks to State Rep. Jim Dwyer and Alderman Richard Haggerty for attending last night's pink lighting ceremony in support of this incredible group of local women's work on behalf other others.

3) A 'blah' day

According to the National Weather Service, more rain... more clouds... more fog. It'll be a little blah here in Woburn today, if the NWS forecast is correct. Expect a light wind in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the mid-70s, still warm for the fall season.

4) In case you missed it

Yesterday was Pop Warner Tuesday! Whether you have a child playing football, or know that your neighbor's children are taking part, you'll want to check out the scores and recaps from four teams. The Pop Warner 2012 page on Woburn Patch can be found here.
