5T: Fine Art Trivia Night, An Asian Celebration and Rain and Snow Mix

Five things to know today.

Today is Wednesday, Feb. 27. Here are five things to know:

1) Rain and snow mix

Looks like a messy day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect rain and snow this morning followed by all rain after 2 p.m. Little or no snow accumulation expected. High temperature near 39 degrees. Rain tonight with a low around 36 degrees.


2) Public meetings

The Woburn Historical Commission is meeting at 7 p.m. in the Woburn City Hall, Engineering Conference Room. The Woburn School Committee is meeting at 7 p.m. in the Joyce Middle School Conference Room.


3) Fine Art Trivia Night

Woburn Memorial High School is holding a Fine Art Trivia Night at 7 p.m. According to the school's site "The Woburn Memorial High School Chorus and the Woburn Memorial High School Acappella Choir will perform selections of American Folk Music. The concert will be coupled with an art display featuring works created by sophomores, juniors and seniors in Art 2 and Art 3. Interspersed throughout the program will be a trivia contest in which questions will be posed to the audience regarding American Folk music and art. This is a fun, entertaining evening for both trivia fans and those who love music." Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students and free for children under 6.


4) Asian celebration

There will be an Asian celebration at Shamrock Elementary School at 6 p.m. this evening. This is a free family event sponsored by the Shamrock Multicultural Committee, the Woburn Cultural Council and the Shamrock PTO. Enjoy performances by Odaiko New England, the Tufts University Garba dance team, a youth dance ensemble and Shamrock students while sampling some great food. Kids can also try their hand at some hands-on activities.


5) What's cooking Wednesday

Whole Foods Markets is holding a "What's Cooking Wednesday" event starting at 5 p.m. today. Cruise the aisles and check out food and cooking demonstrations in each department and taste free samples.
