2) School news

The second term begins today at Woburn Public Schools. A few important dates for next week:

  • Monday is a holiday and schools will be closed.
  • Thursday is an early-release day. The high school will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m., the middle schools at noon, and elementary schools at 12:30 p.m.
  • Report cards will be distributed to students on Friday.

3) Weather improves

According to the National Weather Service's specialized forecast just for Woburn, our weather will improve today! The NWS expects temperatures to rise into the 50s, with sunny skies all day. The weekend forecast is also nice, with partly sunny skies and temps ranging from 50 to 60 on both Saturday and Sunday. Great weather for Sunday's outdoor Veterans Day activities!

4) In case you missed it

Our first snowfall didn't leave a lot of the white stuff on the ground, but it did cause some troubles on the road Tuesday night. The Woburn Police were out that night dealing with car accidents, including one in which an automobile skidded off the road and down an embankment. Read the police log here.

5) Headlines in history
