2) Blood Drive

The American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive today at the Boston Sports Club on Presidential Way. The drive will be held betwen 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. All participants will receive a coupon for a free appetizer at Chili's.

3) A rainy day

According to the National Weather Service's pinpointed forecast for Woburn, we're going to have rain showers all day today. Expect patchy fog between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and temperatures in the 40s. The rain will stay with us into the evening before possibly turning into snow on Saturday.

4) In case you missed it

Over 200 New England area police officers, including Woburn Police Sgt. Charles Stokes and Officer Tom Negri, met a young boy with cancer yesterday. The officers all lined up in formation for the youngster, who called them to order... And then asked them all to hop on one foot! (Which, of course, they did.) See how they got to Virginia and met Nathan here.

5) Historic Headline

Let's take a walk through Woburn's history, shall we? A headline in the newspaper regarding Dec. 20 events in Woburn was:

  • 1934—Robber Hunted in Wilmington Camps—The robber reportedly held up the victim in Woburn and stole $1,500.
