5T: Temps in the 60s, Library Closing Early and Red Sox Home Opener

Editor's note: The original story incorrectly stated that the Woburn Public Library will be closing early today. The library is closing early tomorrow.

Today is Monday, April 8. Here are five things to know:

1) Sunny and warm

Ok, Spring, now we're talking. According to the National Weather Service we can expect sunny skies with a high near 64 degrees. Chance of showers tonight after 2 a.m. Otherwise cloudy with a low around 47 degrees.

2) Public meetings

The Woburn Cemetery Commission is meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the Wood Brook Cemetery. The Woburn City Council Subcommittees is meeting at 6 p.m in the Woburn City Hall Committee Room. The Woburn Golf and Ski Authority is meeting at 7 p.m. in the Woburn Country Club.

3) Library closing early

The Woburn Public Library is closing earlier tomorrow. A note on its web site states "The Library will close at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will re-open on Wednesday, April 10 at 9:00 a.m. as usual."

4) Red Sox home opener

Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill is encouraging Red Sox fans to play hooky from work and come by to watch the Boston Red Sox's first home game.

5) Baby boot camp

The Winchester Recreation Department, 263 Main St., Winchester, is holding a Baby Boot Camp for Winchester and Woburn mothers at 9:30 a.m. this morning. Baby Boot Camp is an innovative stroller-fitness program that helps moms regain or enhance pre-pregnancy fitness levels and meet the physical challenges of parenting by emphasizing strength training in a supportive environment.
