5T: Trash Pickup Delayed Due to Holiday

Here are five things you need to know today in Woburn:

 

1) Christmas tree pickup 

Trash and recycling will not be picked up today and will be delayed one day. As for those Christmas trees, curbside pickup of trees (no bags, no decorations) is scheduled to the held from Dec. 31, 2012 to Jan. 5, 2013, and again from Jan. 7, 2013 to Jan. 11,2013, in conjunction with neighborhood curbside pickup.

2) Are you ready for some football?!

Here's your New Year's Day college football bowl line-up... 

  • 12 p.m. Gator Bowl - Mississippi St. vs. NorthWestern  ESPN2
  • 12 p.m. Heart of Dallas Bowl - Oklahoma St. vs. Purdue  ESPNU
  • 1 p.m. Capital One Bowl - Georgia vs. Nebraska ABC
  • 1 p.m. Outback Bowl - South Carolina vs. Michigan ESPN
  • 5 p.m. Rose Bowl - Wisconsin vs. Stanford ESPN 
  • 8 p.m. Orange Bowl - Northern Illinois vs. Florida St. ESPN

 

3) Clearing skies

According to the National Weather Service's pinpointed forecast for Woburn,  it'll be a windy and cold day today. Bundle up as the high is only going to be in the mid 20s! Wind gusts could reach 10 to 15 miles per hour. But it will be sunny to start the New Year.
