5T: Two Ways to Benefit Marathon Victims, Free Karate Class and Today's Weather

Five things to know today.

Today is Tuesday, April 23. Here are five thing to know:

1) Afternoon rain likely

Looks like a gray day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect rain after 1 p.m. Otherwise mostly cloudy with a high near 47 degrees. Rain likely tonight. Otherwise cloudy with a low around 42 degrees.

2) Public meetings

The Woburn Planning Board is meeting at 7 p.m. in the Woburn City Hall, Council Chamber. The Woburn Redevelopment Authority is meeting at 5 p.m. in the Woburn City Hall, Committee Room. The Woburn School Committee is meeting at 7 p.m. in the Joyce Middle School Conference Room. The Woburn School Finance Committee is meeting at 6:15 p.m. in the Joyce Middle School Conference Room.

 

3) Support bombing victim's

The Restaurant is offering three ways to support Boston Marathon bombing victims Paul and JP Norden, who were both injured in the blast. Make a cash donation, purchase raffle tickets for Red Sox tickets and/or have a meal and they will donate 30 percent of the tab. Click here for more information.  

 

4) Lunch to support the victims

Bittersweet Bakery, located at 385 West Cummings Park, is hosting a luncheon fundraiser tomorrow, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If the weather is nice the event will be held outside at West Cummings Park. If it rains it will be held inside the bakery.

Bittersweet will be selling a selection of breakfast pastries, cupcakes, vegan cookies, gluten-free desserts, sandwiches, salads and drinks for sale. 100 percent of the sales will be donated to The One Fund Boston to benefit the victims of the attack.

 

5) Free karate class

Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts is offering a free martial arts class for interested students. Classes for all ages available.
