5T: Woburn Company Buys Up Connecticut Land

Find out what's going in Woburn today (and in history) with our 5T column!

Here are five things you need to know today in Woburn:

1) I'll take Hartford for $65 million

Woburn-based company KS Partners has purchased $65 million of land and office buildings in Hartford. The land includes an "eight-building office portfolio" in suburban Hartford (Rocky Hill), according to Commercial Property Executive. The complexes are named Corporate Ridge and I-91 Tech Center.

2) Wakefield lends a hand

While Woburn Pop Warner honored Mr. Allen Fisher, a father of two who died after being struck by a car following a practice, Wakefield Pop Warner also wanted to pay tribute and help the Fisher family. Over last weekend's games, Wakefield parents raised over $1,000 through bake sales. If you would like to contribute to assist Mr. Fisher's wife and two small children, click here.

3) No rain yet!

According to the National Weather Service's specialized forecast just for Woburn, it'll probably be mostly sunny again today in the city. With temperatures in the low 60s, we'll see a light breeze in the afternoons. But, the NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Woburn due to Hurricane Sandy.

4) In case you missed it

The Woburn Police arrested a man for assault and battery Tuesday, after an argument involving meatloaf and laundry detergent. Catch up with the Woburn Police Log from yesterday here.
