5T: Woburn Residents Raise Money for Jimmy Fund

Here are five things you need to know today in Woburn:

 

1) Pan-Mass Challenge success

Woburn residents who took part in the Pan-Mass Challenge this summer raised nearly $50,000 for the Jimmy Fund. According to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the 10 Woburn participants raised $47,600 for cancer research projects. Approximately $37 million was raised overall during the two-day event.

2) Mini-camp

Woburn Patch friend and supporter Christina Welch will be holding a mini-camp for pre-schoolers this Thursday and next. Join the camp for $30 and introduce your child to ice-skating. Camp is held at the Ned O'Brien Ice Rink.

 

3) Sunshine returns

According to the National Weather Service's pinpointed forecast for Woburn, it will not be so dark and dreary today. The NWS is expecting the sun to return and temperatures in the mid-40s. There will be a light wind, also. The sun should stay with us into Friday, but snow is back on the radar for the weekend.
