Be a Rock Star at Beacon Grille

The one-year-old restaurant will make you feel like the biggest star in the city with its special treatment and cuisine.

Overview: Go to and you'll feel like royalty. The restaurant offers a very luxurious dining experience for their clientele. With knowledgeable staff and delicious food and beverage options, the restaurant, which opened last year, has become a new favorite among locals and folks with discerning palates all over the area. Just make sure you save your pennies as a full Beacon Grille dining extravaganza comes with a significant price tag.

Beverages: Don't know which wine you should order to complement your entree? Ask for the restaurant's friendly sommelier who will help you pick the perfect red or white to go with your meal. Beacon Grille also has a wide variety of beers (draft, bottle and tap), as well as unique specialty cocktails. Try the Honey-Tequila Smash and you will not be disappointed. The even have dessert drinks. Why not have a warm glass of Cognac with that dessert cake?

Appetizers: Even before your appetizer, how about an amuse bouche to get those tastebuds raring to go? Beacon Grille is well-known for their lobster bisque. They add the lobster on top so you won't have to dig around for the goodness. They have a variety of soups, chowders and salads, as well as seafood and vegetarian appetizers. Try the crispy calamari. Its topped with a sweet and spicy glaze and served with a delicious dipping sauce.

Entrees: The Phantom Gourmet put Beacon Grille on the map when they showcased the restaurant's Baked Stuffed Lobster. If it's not on the menu, ask the waiter if they'll make it! The menu rotates regularly with some popular selections that are mainstays. There is a weekly lunch and dinner special. The main menu is divided into meat and seafood but there is always a vegetarian option on the menu, as well as on the specials. We highly recommend the stuffed shrimp which comes with six jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab and lobster.

Sides: Who wants some potatoes? Fried, mashed or baked. Roasted fingerling potatoes, sweet potato fries or potatoes au gratin. Beacon Grill is the master of the spud and they serve it up right.

Desserts: Save some room for dessert! We highly recommend the Warm Peach Upside Down Cake. They also serve various flavors of ice cream from Christina's in Cambridge.

Service: Make a reservation in advance by calling ahead (or perhaps talking to their very helpful social media person on Twitter @BeaconGrille). The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. You'll get rock star treatment. They'll even refold your napkin for you when you take a quick trip to the bathroom! Most importantly, ask your waiter questions. They know their stuff and can help you make the most of your experience.

Holidays: Beacon Grille is closed on Sundays but will open for special holidays. The restaurant features special holiday menus for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. The menus include exclusive drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts you won't find on their regular menu.

Cause: 100 percent of Beacon Grille's net profits go to the Cummings/Hillel Holocaust and Genocide Education program at the local Tufts University. Also, Beacon Grille is green! The restaurant employs a variety of tactics to reduce their environmental impact.
