City Prepares for Memorial Day Celebrations

The city of Woburn is planning several activities to commemorate Memorial Day, Monday, May 30.

According to Veterans Director Larry Guiseppe, ceremonies will begin on May 29 and conclude with the city's parade on May 30. 

• Sunday, May 29, 10 a.m.—Veteran’s Mass at .
• Sunday, May 29, following Mass—Veteran’s breakfast at Moose Lodge, 4 Federal St.
• Sunday, May 29, 1 p.m.—Memorial Square dedication to Private Rupp, who was killed in action, on May 27, 1918, at Arlington Road across from Hudson Street
• Monday, May 30, 8:30 a.m.—Memorial Day parade

• 8:15 a.m.—Parade participants assemble
• 8:30 a.m.—Parade begins
• 8:45 a.m.—Woburn Common activities: 
  • Posting of colors
  • Flag raising by the United Veteran’s Council
  • Opening prayer by Deacon Phil Hardcastle
