The Farmers Market at Spence Farm is held every Sunday through October.

Woburn Farmer's Market

2011 marks the inaugural year for Woburn's own . was purchased by the city of Woburn last year in an effort to preserve the land and to use it for the benefit of the community, which includes hosting a farmer's market on the property.

Situated on the grounds of Spence Farm on Wyman Street (off of Main Street), the Farmer's Market delights Woburnites with local produce, food, drinks and handmade goods every Sunday from 9 am to 1:30 pm. Open from early June to late October, the Woburn Farmer's Market is a great way to tap into your inner locavore and to support local businesses. Vendors from Woburn, Winchester, Watertown, Pepperell, Medford and even as far as New Hampshire and Vermont set up booths and tents to sell their high quality products to visitors of the Market.

What exactly will you find at the farmer's market? The star of the show is the locally grown, in-season produce. You'll find rasperries, blueberries, strawberries, peaches, apples, plums, corn, squash, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, fresh herbs, eggplant, radishes, carrots, onions and so much more depending on the time of year and the availability of the produce. Fruit and Vegetable farms such as Russell Farms from Woburn, Spring Brook Farm from Litteton, Kimball Fruit Farm and Lyn-Dell Farm, both from Pepperell, attend the market on a regular basis.

We know Sunday morning can be busy, so while you are there, have breakfast! You can purchase some coffee, served up the way you like it, courtesy of Mystic Coffee Roasters from Medford. Bakeries Big Sky Bread and Danish Pastry House, both from Watertown, showcase a delicious array of pastries and breads available to purchase for an early morning treat or for a family meal later that day. How about lunch? Thai Link features hot, fresh Thai food at reasonable prices and ready to serve.

But the Farmer's Market is not just food. You'll find handmade soaps, jewelry, artwork, clothing, flowers and other locally made specialty products. Depending on the Farmer's Market's schedule, there are also hay rides, live folk music, face painting, petting zoos and other fun events.

On rainy days, the vendors can be found inside the Spence Farm building. There are plenty of off-street parking spots and the farm is easily accessible from the Rt 95 or Main Street. So there is really no excuse not to visit the Woburn Farmer's Market every Sunday for the best of the area's best. And make sure you stop by the Social Capital, Inc. booth to say hi!
