Five Great Deals: Cheap Chicken, Dorm Deals and a Head Start on Christmas

We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars. 

This  is dedicated to giving you five great local deals each week that will help your family’s bottom line, and since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money.

This week, Woburn Patch scoured our local sources to come up with great deals for you and your family! 

Deal: Cheerios, Country Kitchen Canadian Breads and Foxy Romaine Hearts are all 2/$4 this week.  Bounty jumbo paper towels are $6.99 (savings of $4) and Charmin double roll bath tissue is $5.99 (savings of $3). With the summer in full swing, why not make a pasta and clam sauce dinner? The Happy Clam red or white sauce is 2/$5 (save $1.99), littleneck clams are $3.59/lb (save $1.40/lb), and Barilla tri-colored pasta is .99 cent.

Deal: If you missed the penny sale last week, don’t miss the dollar sale this week. Stock up on back to school items like binders, pens, memo books and dry-erase boards, all for a dollar. Hammermill copy paper is $1 (actually, $5.99 with a $4.99 easy rebate). 

Good Through: Saturday, Sept. 17

Deal: Enjoy a great deal on chicken wings at Tanner Tavern every Wednesday. Starting at 4:30 p.m., chicken wings are 10 cents each. The deal runs until 10 p.m. that night, or the Tavern runs out of wings, whichever comes first! 

Good Through: Ongoing (Wednesdays, only).

Deal: Target breaks out the deals for the new (or old) college student this week. See deals on electronics, including scientific calculators and iPod Touch devices, and dorm room essentials. There's a microsuede futon for only $89 and a bed comforter set for $37.

Deal: Get a head start on Christmas (hey, December IS just around the corner!) at A.C. Moore. The store has plain glass ornaments for sale at $3.99 a package. Then start decorating! Also, particular spring and summer floral arrangements, ribbons and bows, and patriotic and summer decor items are 60 percent off while the stock lasts.
