Woburn Patch has scoured the city and discovered five ways for families to save money.

We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars. 

This  is dedicated to giving you five great local deals each week that will help your family’s bottom line, and since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money.

Deal: The store's anniversary celebration sale has tons of fun animals on sale this week. Baby Ball Pythons and Baby Leopard Geckos are 50 percent off with a Pals card. Parakeet prices start at $21.99, Guinea Pigs $29.99, and select fancy goldfish are $1.99.

2. CVS

Deal: Extrabucks deals include a ThermaCare lower back and hip heat wrap for $3.79 with an extrabucks of $3.79, which means it's free! Excedrin extra strength PM or migraine 8ct. is 99¢ with an extrabucks of 99¢—free again (limit 2 per household)!

3. A.C. MOORE

Deal: The store's entire selection of yarn is on sale this week, with over 700 yarns at either 25 to 50 percent off. That is a great deal! Harvest wreaths, bushes and garlands are 50 percent off this week, as are carvable pumpkins. Open stock scrapbooking paper is also 50 percent off, along with select jewelry strands. Enjoy 50 percent off any item you purchase with the store's coupon, which is good until Saturday.

4. MARKET BASKET

Deal: Boneless, skinless chicken breast and center cut pork chops are $1.99/lb.  Fresh large eggs are 2/$3 (savings of 78¢), and apple spice
or plain donuts are $1.99 (savings of $1.96). If you’re looking for a healthy snack, why not try soup?  Campbell’s Soups (Chunky, Select Harvest, Healthy Request) are on sale 4/$5, (savings of $5). Hot deal: If you’re a bagel lover, Thomas’ Bagels are 2/$4 (savings of $5.18)

Deal:  Have a special someone you want to give flowers? Then check out Hillside Florist's Web site for their "Deal of the Day." They'll help you get the best bouquet to fit your needs and your budget.

Stock up on those chicken breasts at Market Basket! Those can get pricey.
