2) Lost cat: The Carbone family has been caring for for about two weeks. The cat was emaciated and was having trouble walking. Look at his picture and see if you know who this little guy is and where his owners are. Thank you!

3) Event spotlight: Today is Marathon Monday! And while you know you’re going to stay with Woburn Patch to be updated on maybe you want to watch the whole race itself. Why not head over to one of our sports bars to watch? Sea Dog, Scoreboard, Brickyard, lots of places will be airing the famous race.

4) In case you missed it: Sen. John Kerry was in town Friday to meet the family of slain Police Officer Jack Maguire. Sen. Kerry presented the family and Woburn Police with a plaque commemorating the renaming of the Woburn Post Office on Washington Street for Officer Maguire.

5) Psychedelic, man: On this day in 1943, a Swiss chemist accidentally ingests LSD and learns of its hallucinogenic side effects. Albert Hoffman had originally created LSD as part of his research. But after taking the drug twice, he noted that it created a “not unpleasant, intoxicated-like state.” Hoffman said he saw “fantastic pictures” and an “intense, kaleidoscopic play of colors.” LSC became a popular recreational drug in the 60s, but was deemed illegal in 1965.
