Today is Monday, April 18. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. A beautiful spring day: The National Weather Service is forecasting what could be a perfect spring day. According to NWS forecasters, we should see sunshine and temperatures in the high 50s, as well as a light breeze. It sounds delightful to us!
  2. Boston Marathon: It’s not in Woburn, but the Boston Marathon has some Woburn ties! Several Woburn residents are running in the race and have been profiled on Woburn Patch. Also, at 8:30 a.m., we’ll be running a complete list of Woburn participants in the race. Make sure to check back and see who is running.
  3. Road trip!: The and will both play in Melrose today at 10 a.m. If you’re up to it, pile the kids into the car, head on over to Lynn Fells Parkway and enjoy the games.
  4. In case you missed it: The has a new director named Brian Oullette. Reporter Nadine Wandzilak met Oullette last week and introduced him to Patch readers in her Sunday Patch People feature. If you missed it, you can catch it here.
  5. A midnight ride: In a story famous to all of us New Englanders, it was on this day in 1775 that the famous midnight ride of Paul Revere happened. Hearing news that the British were coming to get Patriot leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock, who were in our neighboring town of Lexington, Paul Revere and William Dawes headed out on horseback to warn the Patriots. And so began the American Revolution.
