Today is Monday, April 25. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Temps rising: It’s been a little cooler than usual the last week or so, but expect temperatures to start to reach the normal high for April today. According to the National Weather Service, it’ll be cloudy with a slight chance of rain today. Temperatures should reach 58 degrees.     
  2. Martha Coakley visits: The North Suburban Chamber of Commerce is hosting a . Registration and breakfast is at 7:30 p.m., Coakley speaks at 8 a.m. .
  3. Back to school: Well, it was a fun time for the kids last week, as they enjoyed their last vacation before school gets out this year. But it’s time to pack lunches, grab those backpacks and get back to school. Eat a good breakfast, kids, and enjoy the first day of Term IV!
  4. In case you missed it: The 2011 city election season is almost underway. Nomination papers for the open seats will be available the first week of May. Check our Election 2011 calendar for all of the important dates!  
  5. Enter the Dark Knight: On this day in 1939, DC Comics began publishing comic books with its second superhero—Batman. In the early days, Bruce Wayne’s alter-ego was known as “the Bat-Man” and was featured in the Detective Comics series. In 1940, he was so popular he got his own title. Of course, the character is widely known today, as the star of cartoons, comic books and feature films.
