Happy Birthday, Ted Donato. And Local Editor Danielle Masterson's husband, Les!

Today is Thursday, April 28. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. More rain: Although it’s going to be a toasty 70 degrees today, the National Weather Service is expecting heavy rains with possible thunderstorms after lunch. It’ll stay breezy today and we may see wind gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
  2. Reading is fun: If you love reading as much as we do, you’ll want to bring your little ones to the this morning for . Children ages 2-and-a-half to 3-years-old will meet at 9:30 a.m. and children ages 3 to 5 will meet at 11. Storytime features reading, fingerplay and crafts. Pre-registration is required, so call the Children’s Room at 781-937-0405.
  3. Conservation Commission: The will hold a regular meeting at City Hall tonight at 7 p.m.
  4. In case you missed it: We here at Woburn Patch love our pets. Yesterday, we asked our readers at what age do you think a child is old enough to take on the responsibility of a pet? Log in and let us know what you think!
  5. Crimson pride: On this day in 1969, Harvard hockey coach Teddy Donato was born. Donato, who was drafted into the National Hockey League in 1987, played for Harvard before representing the United States in the 1992 Olympic Games. After a lengthy career in the NHL, including two different stints with the Boston Bruins, Donato moved on to coach his alma mater. (He’s also well known as Local Editor Danielle Masterson’s all-time favorite hockey player!)
