1) A winner of a day: Although we had both sunshine and rain yesterday, today we are likely to see the sun all day. The National Weather Service is forecasting sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-50s. Light winds are expected.

2) Relay for Life: The Woburn is coming up in May and volunteers are working hard to make sure that the event goes off without a hitch. There will be a planning meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the .

 

3) Event spotlight: spring sports are underway! Today, girls’ track will take on Wilmington at home. Girls’ varsity lacrosse is in Melrose at 4 p.m. today, but freshman girls’ lacrosse will be at WMHS.

 

4) In case you missed it: A Woburn man was arrested in Lexington Friday for his role in defrauding buyers on eBay.

 

5) I've been to the mountaintop: On this day in 1968, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his moving "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech at the Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee. In the speech, King highlights the difficulty facing people across the world and calls for unity, economic actions, and non-violent protest that challenged the United States to live up to its ideals. This would be King's last speech as he was assassinated the following day at the Lorraine Motel.
