2) Did you know?

With so many movies filming in Massachusetts lately—Ted, Grown Ups 2, Labor Day—we thought we'd take a look at the Massachusetts Film Office archives to see if any movies were recently filmed in Woburn. We found one—Knight & Day, starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Cruise played a spy, Diaz his girlfriend. Does anyone remember the filming in 2009? Where did they shoot?

3) Event spotlight

The city of Woburn Recreation Department is hosting another  at  tonight. The fun begins at 8 p.m. Tonight's movie is Tangled. Keep an eye on the Rec Department's Facebook page in case of rain.

4) In case you missed it

The Holiday Inn, a staple in Woburn for so many years, has been transformed into a Crowne Plaza luxury hotel! Some of you asked if the hotel will remain a shelter, and we have asked that question. We will post the answer when we find out!

5) Murder has been around for ages...

On this day in 1751, Francis Blandy of London dies after a lengthy bout of nausea and acute stomach pain. His daughter, who flees the country, is captured and charged with his murder. Mary, then 26, was unmarried and involved with a Scotsman, who just happened to be married. When Francis disapproved of the relationship and wouldn't give Mary her dowry, she began feeding him arsenic with his meals. The servants caught on to Mary's scheme and turned her in to authorities after Francis's death. She was convicted and hanged for her crime. Her boyfriend died penniless in France.
