Oooh, it's starting to feel a lot like July! According to the National Weather Service, we'll experience hot and spicy temperatures in the 90s today. (OK, the NWS said hot, we said spicy.) It'll be mostly sunny with some light wind. But the weekend will be much cooler with temperatures only in the high-70s and some rain showers.

2) This weekend...

Woburn's Pop Warner program will be hosting a on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition to making your car spiffy clean, snacks, drinks and homemade goodies will be available for purchase! The event will help raise money for the organization to take part in events this season.   

 

3) Event spotlight

A at 1 p.m. Not only will you be helping to save lives by donating blood, you'll also get a free container of SunBrew iced tea. Which will taste pretty good on such a hot afternoon!

 

4) In case you missed it

A Malden man was found in the woods off of Lexington Street Wednesday night, lying on the ground and moaning for help. Officers assisted the man and Woburn Fire brought him to the hospital. . 

 

5) 'Tommy' hits Woodstock

On this day in 1969, the infamous Woodstock music festival was coming to a close. The performances ran almost constantly, and The Who took the stage at 5 a.m. for a 65-minute set, which included the entire Tommy album. Creedence Clearwater Revival began the Sunday performances at 12:30 a.m., followed by Janis Joplin at 2 a.m. Sly and the Family Stone hit the stage at 3:30 a.m., then The Who, and finally Jefferson Airplane at 8 a.m. With a bit of a break between sets, Joe Cocker kicked off the scheduled Sunday performances at 2 p.m. The festival ended officially Monday, Aug. 18 at 11:10 a.m. after Jimi Hendrix's iconic performance of the Star Spangled Banner on the electric guitar.
