2) Back to School at the Y

The North Suburban YMCA is hosting back to school activities this month, including tonight's The movie tonight is "Grow." Screening starts at 6 p.m.

3) Event spotlight

Tonight is on Main Street. The band will be set up in Jack Marlowe Park - the brick area next to the restaurant - and will perform at 6 p.m. Tonight's entertainment is Walk The Line.

4) In case you missed it

We've asked for your pets, now we're asking for your first day of school photos! The key here is to let all your inhibitions go. We know, you at five-years-old may not be your most fashionable period. But it's OK! It wasn't ours either! Patch staffers have shared their first day photos, now we want to see yours.

5) "We are an impossibility in an impossible universe"

So said legendary science fiction author Ray Bradbury, who was born on this day in 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois. Bradbury was best known for his works "The Martian Chronicles," "Dandelion Wine" and "Fahrenheit 451." The latter is now one of the best-known works on the subject of censorship, something Bradbury spoke against during his entire life. Bradbury died earlier this year on June 5 at the age of 91.
