Today is Tuesday, August 16. Here are five things you need to know:

3. Doggie education: Does your pup need to learn some new tricks? How about just learning how to walk without pulling you? Then head over to on Commerce Way for a one-hour loose-leash walking workshop at 4 p.m. today. There will also be a “Paws Off” workshop at 6 p.m. tonight to teach your grabby dog how to not jump on your friends.

4. In case you missed it: Some clothes got a couple of Woburnites in trouble this weekend.

5. Geronimo!: We have an extreme fun fact for you today. On this day in 1960, United States Air Force member Joseph William Kittinger II set the free-fall world record when he fell more than 16 miles (roughly 84,000 feet) before opening his parachute and landing in New Mexico. Kittinger has other extreme feathers in his cap; he also held the records for the fastest and longest skydive and was the first man to make a solo crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in a gas balloon.
