Today is Friday, August 19. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Maybe rainy: We may see some rain, or even some thunder, today, according to the National Weather Service forecast. But we’ll also see some sunshine at times.
  2. Thai at home: Learn how to make Thai food at home this weekend at ! There will be a Thai cooking demonstration during the this Sunday. Demo starts at noon.
  3. Horn Pond concert: If the rain holds off, the will continue tonight with a performance from Beatle Tracks. Show is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m.
  4. In case you missed it: Our very awesome Bites Nearby column looked at Woburn guiltiest pleasure— on Main Street.
  5. "Norm!": On this day in 1993, the highly-popular sitcom "Cheers" aired its final episode following an 11-year run on NBC. The show followed the trials, tribulations and petty problems of the regulars of a Boston-based bar. Though it was almost cancelled during the first season due to low ratings, Cheers eventually became one of the highest-rated shows in the United States, coming out in the top 10 for eight of its 11 seasons. And that, as Cliff Clavin would say, is a "little known fact."
