2) Remembering Officer Maguire: It was one year ago that Woburn Police lost one of its own in a tragic gunfight outside Kohls after an armed robbery. The incident left dead, and his killer also dead. Today, and every day, we remember Officer Maguire and his service to the community.

5) Excuse me while I kiss the sky: On this day in 1966, Jimi Hendrix wrote the iconic song “Purple Haze” in a backstage dressing room at the Uppercut Club in London. The song wouldn’t enjoy great commercial success, but is known as one of the greatest songs of the 1960s—if not ever. Hendrix performed the song, and burned his guitar, at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.
