Five Things You Need To Know Today, Feb. 15

Temperatures may hit 50 today.

Here are five things you need to know today:

1) Heating up: Even though it’s probably going to be cloudy… and rainy… and cloudy (did we already say that?) … it should be an OK day in Woburn. Temperatures are expected to get close to 50 degrees and stay there Thursday.

2) ZBA meets: The at City Hall at 7 p.m.

3) Event spotlight: The at the school building.

4) In case you missed it: We here at Woburn Patch love history. That’s one of the reasons why we always post a historical fact in our Five Things column. Well, we’ve been using the resources of the Boston Public Library to look into Woburn’s history.

5) Go ahead, invade us: On this day in 1776, Governor Francis Legge of Nova Scotia reported that some residents had written a letter to General George Washington asking him to “invade Nova Scotia at his earliest possible convenience,” according to History.com. But two days later, the Continental Congress voted that Washington should investigate going to Nova Scotia, but not the destruction of Halifax.
