1) I’ve seen sunshine and I’ve seen rain…: Isn’t it nice to start our day with a song? And it fits our weather pattern today! According to the National Weather Service, it’ll be rainy before 10 a.m. today, then cloudy and gradually turning sunny. Expect temperatures in the 50s, and some high winds.

2) Don’t forget: Monday was a holiday, so trash pick-up and recycling is delayed one day this week!

3) Event spotlight: Open skating time will be available at the Ned O’Brien rink today at 1:30 p.m. You can thank the Woburn Recreation Department for setting aside the time!

4) In case you missed it: Main Street was shut down between Charles and Chestnut streets for over seven hours yesterday, as police negotiated with a man threatening to jump off the roof of a Main Street building. To read the story, click here.

5) History captured in black and white: On this day in 1945, the 28th Regiment of the Fifth Marine Division reached the summit of Mount Surabachi, on Iwo Jima. Six marines hoisted an American flag on the top and the moment was captured in a photograph by photographer Joe Rosenthal. The now very famous picture, titled "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima" won the Pulitzer Prize for Photography, the only photograph to ever win that prize in the same year it was published.
