2) Goodyear visit: Famous history icon Harriet Tubman visited the last week. According to the school’s principal, Christopher Heath, the actress portraying Tubman took students on an interactive experience through Tubman’s life. The presentation was sponsored by the Goodyear Schools’ Parent-Teacher Organization.

3) Event spotlight: If you’re concerned about the MBTA’s proposals to cut some services to the city of Woburn, you will want to be at City Hall tonight at 7 p.m. There will be a meeting held with an MBTA Advisory Board member discussing residents’ concerns.

4) In case you missed it: Yesterday’s warmer temperatures shut down the man-made ice rinks at Library Park temporarily. The rinks will be open this winter, unless there is a sign stating that they are closed by the city’s recreation department.

5) POTUS pay: On this day in 1949, the salary of the President of the United States was increased from $75,000 to $100,000 with an extra $50,000 per year for expenses. The Commander in Chief salary was raised again in 1969 to $200,000 and again in 2001 to $400,000. The Vice President, meanwhile, now makes $230,700 per year with $10,000 for expenses.
