Today is Thursday, June 2. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. A little cooler today: The high temps of Wednesday are gone today, with temperatures sinking to the high 60s for most of the day. The National Weather Service is forecasting a breezy day, with westerly winds gusting between 17 and 20 miles per hour. Gusts could reach as high as 26 miles per hour tonight, so hang onto your hats!

  5. Carpe Diem: On this day in 1989, Dead Poets Society was released in American movie theaters. The film, starring Robin Williams, was centered on an all-boys prep school where a teacher (Williams) encourages a group of boys to “seize the day” and follow their dreams. The boys revive the Dead Poets Society, but there are serious consequences. The movie was a hit with teens, but received some bad reviews at the time of its release.
