1)  Showers didn’t dampen the WMHS Class of 2012’s commencement yesterday:   but rain is likely today.  Looks like a chance of showers tomorrow and Wednesday, too, according to the National Weather Service.

2)  The party’s over:  The all-night party for members of the WMHS Class of 2012, that is. Many of the grads partied the night after graduation at the Woburn Country Club.

3)  Got an hour a week, two weeks a month?  Some homebound seniors would probably enjoy a home-delivered meal and a “hello.” You can make the deliveries by yourself or with a friend or work colleague. Interested?  Contact Minuteman Senior Services at 781-221-7023.

4)  Did you miss this?  Spence Farm will be getting orchard trees, based on on-line voting, through the Edy’s Communities Take Root program.

5)  Battle by sea and air:  A four-day battle between Japan and the US began on this date in 1942. The Japanese wanted to destroy the US Pacific fleet.  However, US intelligence broke Japanese naval code and Americans anticipated what the Japanese thought would be a surprise attack.
